People with obesity have higher risk of severe COVID‐19 including hospitalization, intensive clinical care and death. A meta-analysis of ~400 000 COVID‐19 patients (~55% male) found that obesity increased risk of hospital admission by 113%, intensive care by 74%, and death by 48%.
