Testing Mak Staff for Coronavirus

IDI staff undergo sensitization for COVID-19 during the first quarter of 2020, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda.

The Makerere University Department of Microbiology and Immunology will commence free testing of staff for coronavirus with effect from Tuesday 1st September 2020. In the first week, testing will commence at 9.00 am and end at 2.00 pm each day. Thereafter, testing will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. Collection of samples for members of staff who wish to participate in the Mak community survey testing will be done at the Freedom Square.

Members of staff who may develop symptoms of COVID-19 may test for coronavirus at the University Hospital free of charge on any day during working hours.

Critical staff who are required to report to duty and all staff residing on campus are particularly urged to take advantage of this free testing. Owing to the limited number of testing kits for this exercise, testing will be available to members of staff only.
